What i'm going to say now is directed to BOTH your works: - The background is way too blurry, there's no depth at all; - The render seems blurred and erased on the edges; Now, about the 1st sig, that blue part doesn't fit well into the tag, it lacks a focal point (which means the render should stand out more) and lacks a lighting point. About the 2nd sig, it has a focal point (because the render is more sharpened than the background, NOT because the background is more blurred than the render), but it lacks a light source too. About the text, for the second tag i see you tried to blend it more into de background, nice try, but what both your tags have in common (text-like) is that the font doesn't blend in with the essence of the tag. For example, if you're creating a tag with a barbarian theme, and lots of blood and that, you won't use a flowery font for it, right? Basically that's what's happening here, you're using a somewhat tech-y font (maybe usable in a Halo tag), that doesn't blend in with the tag. Plus, you should try to add some colour to it. It may be hard to add colour to the text, to position it correctly and not taking away the focal point, and because of that, i only recommend that you read some text tutorials (i think there's one right here in GR) and go for some experiences. So, basic recommendations, go back to the basics, learn how to make a cool background, enhace your blending skills, add some flow to your works, learn how to create depth using sharpen/blur and lighter/darker spots, and work on your text, and you'll be doing great tags in no time.
