Okay so like the title said these are my first sprite signatures.. let me know what you think.. I'm posting the normal signatures and the animated versions as well. I had to tone down the animation a lot because it was pretty overwhelming all though very cool in my opinion... not really the main point of a signature. So know that the animated versions were chosen to be less flashy on purpose so that the focal point wasn't losing attention. Okay now onward and to the graphics: Here we have Genjuro from Samurai Shodown an old arcade style *bit fighter; This is obviously the the non animated *.png version: I couldn't choose between that first one and this one; Then we have the animated version: Here is an example of what I meant by over the top: Then we have this lovely lady in her police costume: Here is one of Riddick which I particularly like: Now here we have the Warmachine animated and non-animated signatures: Non-animated Animated Over the top first animated edition These were my first sprite signatures, as well as some experimental others.. I put the "over the top" signatures in just to give some people an idea of what to look for in their work that may be diminishing the outcome of the piece, as well as to show people who didn't know the possibilities of animation a few effects that can be achieved just using photoshop layering. Let me know what you think!
I'll do so and give you the signature if you want it.. Just let me know.. In fact if anyone wants first dibs on my sigs let me know in advanced thanks.
In my opinion, you need to ditch the messy backgrounds and huge text. You separate your backgrounds from your renders, resulting in almost no blending, which in turn means little integration between your focal and background. And your text pulls focus away from your renders, so my eyes are all over the place. As far as the animation is concerned, it's fine, but the ones you said were over the top were, well, over the top.
