My school is having a contest to win a winter formal ticket. We have to make a poster with the dance's theme that is "Twilight Zone" C and C please.
text below is way too hard to read. Keep it simple and legible. The tech text also looks kind of lame. Maybe try a border or something to make it stick out more.
Yeah, I'm gonna agree with Shadow. Sorry but this needs a lot of work to win, unless no one at your school is very good at this kinda thing. Not trying to be a douche, just wanna help: The flying saucer is totally out of place. It's in an ok spot, but blend it with the background a bit. Reflect some of the stars and stuff off of it, put some lights, whatever. It's just too flat. As is the alien. Completely flat and 2D. Try to add some shadows and highlights, maybe a drop shadow on top to make it obvious he's not just a decal on the window. You have too many fonts going on here. You may say it's just three, but that's still too much. You only need two. And make them readable. Honestly, I'd just use a simple sans serif font to make it legible, it doesn't need to be all complicated if done correctly. Hope that helps some.
I would highly recommend you do not distort the text, especially for the bottom information. Typographically, its murder. I'd personally make the text smaller, and probably justify it to the right if not the left. --------- I'm not saying that this is going to help or hurt the image, but try: - Lowering the glow over "Twilight Zone" - Moving "HBHS Winter Formal" down a bit, try and align it with one of the letters from "Zone" - Think about removing the stroke from the text "HBHS ABS Presents:" at the top, a simple serif/sans serif (depending on your look) should stand out very well, but not take away from "Twilight Zone" - Maybe tone down the stars a little bit as well, they overpower the poster in spots. Hope I helped a little.
Maybe something more like this: I didn't take too much time fixing up the typography or anything, but I think it looks better.
