I'm looking for a widescreen monitor, and This One seems promising. I really don't know what to look for when buying a monitor, but i think a 1920 x 1080 resolution is acceptable right? Oh, and just in case my pc can't handle playing most recent games with maxed out video settings (it can atm, but i'm still using a 1280x1024 monitor), what should i improve first? Ram (2gigs atm), or the CPU (a cheap dual-core at 2.5 GHZ)? My graphics card is a gforce 9800gt with factory overclock, so i don't think there would be a problem with it. And just out of curiosity, i know that vista can really slow a pc down, but what about windows 7? I'm still using XP, because my brother bought a new pc with vista, which had better specs than mine before it got upgraded, and it couldn't even run WoW properly with low settings. If any of you guys could enlighten me about these questions, i'd really appreciate it
1920x1080 is a perfectly acceptable resolution for a 22" (roughly). If you've got a 9800GT you should be able to handle those resolutions just fine. Also, it's not true that Vista slows a computer down. Provided you meet the requirements it'll run just as fast as XP would on that same system. W7 is a bit better. If your brother couldn't play WoW with lowest settings it either meant his system had bad specs or was faulty or full of bloatware.
IMO 7 is MUCH better then vista and vista isn't nearly as bad as it was when it first came out they have optimized it a bit better but if you were gonna go and get a new OS go for 7 its much better. What nL said about the monitor/ gfx card is pretty spot on as well as Is QFT
I'm using an 8800 GT with 1920 x1080 resoultion Samsung SyncMaster 2333 23" LCD Monitor, works perfectly fine, loving it.
