I like how this was released BEFORE AMD launched their latest cards...

so it suddely goes down from 3-5 times the power to1.5-2.5 times the power...

and how many years will it take for either AMD or nVidia to make a GPU three times as powerful as what's currently out? I'm thinking around 2, MAYBE 3...

an while we're at is does anyone know how hard it is to code for powerVR chips? here's a hint, it's not considered easy.

that said it isn't like it's some no-name chip and they do have some great products out right now(the iPhone uses a PowerVR chip in it)

also, WHAT IS A COMPETITIVE LEVEL graphics card? Im seriously doubting it's a highend card it's probably a midrange card(this is where most cards are sold at FYI) When the PS3 came out, it was on par with a higend PC... from about 3 months before. Just before the PS3 was launched, nVidia then Launched the GeForce 8800 which was basically 2-3 times as powerful as the 7900s it replaced(a 7900 is above RSX FYI, RSX is based on the 7800) that said software optimizations helped the ps3 maintain it's performance relative to the PC industry for a while, though there was a difference, it wasn't ridiculous.

that said, I hope PowerVR is a beast, maybe they'll launch a product P side again, it'd be nice to have some more ompetition, the last time they tried to do anything in the 0s it failed... HARD. They had the better hip design at the time... ohh except it lacked a few features and that crippled it... but the overall concepts were spot on... though those design advantages, as I mentioned before have been mitigated by technologes like AMD's hyperZ.

A lot of people really don't notice the ridiculously low resolutions used by consoles, so they don't realise the huge difference in power/graphics.

I connected my Xbox360 up to my PC monitor to play some Forza 3 and it looked terrible from the standard PC gaming range.

that's because unlike HD TVs, monitors don't blur and do interpolation. FYI you can have your GPU do this... ohh wait you'reusing the 360...

So two of the HD 5970 will do the trick? I mean if I install two ATi HD 5970 GPU's on my PC with 12 GB of DDR3 RAM and use it with i7 Naleham edition, they will work fine?
