So, I was looking around the forum and came across a web hosting thread wherein the creator of the thread was searching for a host offering unlimited space and bandwidth. Dem linked SurpassHosting but went on to say (in the thread I read) how most sites that offer unlimited bandwith are hoaxes. Do you think this site is legitimate then? They offer unlimited space and bandwith for 9.95 a month, 6 bucks if you sign up for 3 years at a time. SiteGround
WHOA. NO idea how that happened.. uhh.. Wat? Wow... I didn't even notice that that happened after I posted it.. let me fix it lol..
I use BlueHost, and I'm on their unlimited bandwidth/hosting plan, but the only thing is you have to pay yearly rather than monthly so it's a bit of an investment. But I'm currently running 6 websites off it, so it works out okay for me.
1 - Nothing is unlimited. 2 - 90% of the time you get what you pay for. If you pay $1/mo for 'unlimited' service, what you're getting is some dudes personal server hooked up on a cable line from his household running a boot legged version of cpanel / whm / fantastico. I have always used surpass hosting, they have great customer service, great up time, fast servers, and low rates for everything I've used them for (their dedicated servers are a bit on the high end last I looked). As far as that site - read the terms thoroughly and question a representative from the company if there is anything you don't understand, be sure to document all conversations with them as well in case they do end up being shady. You can also google the site and see if anyone has written poor reviews of the site, etc.
