It looks like I am in need of another external and I was just curious what the difference really is between them. I own two Seagate 1tb (may not be the exact one but I have two seagate externals that are 1tb) and have had no problems with them in the year or so I have had them. I hear all sorts of things about overheating and slow transfer speed, none of which I have experienced with the two I already have and I was wondering if I should look into getting a better one or not. I am looking for something with 1tb+ space and around $150 or so.

Well that is good to know. Couldn't find any of them at my local stores so I ended up buying two of these:

Western Digital WDH1U10000N My Book Essential Edition 2.0 1 TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive

    Just as good?

MyBook's are good, just as WD is reliable. That's what I have.
