this is pretty much my first attempt at photo manipulation and photo repair but i suppose i did an ok job, the left hand side version is the original photograph of my Great Grandmother and the right hand side version is my re-touched version. i added color too the image and sharpened it up and even repaired some tears. i suppose the finishing result kind of looks like a digital portrait.

please bare in mind i never knew my great grandmother so all the colors, including the eyes, hair, clothes and the room it's self come from my imagination and how i see her and her house ^_^

i used Photoshop to create this piece, and the main tools that i used were the clone stamp tool, color replacement tool and lens blur and smart sharpen and alot of lighting adjustment haha. anyways it took almost 3 hours to create and i am quite happy with the result, i hope you guys like it too! :)

and until today i thought that coloring in a black and white photo was impossible, lol

sorry to rant on like this, just let me know what you guys think and i would love to here some advice on how to improve it ;)

thanks for listening, if you would like too see more from me feel free to view my deviantart account at http://insanity-99.deviantart.com/ ^_^

I think you did a pretty good job actually, I always though bringing color into old photos was a pretty cool idea.

    nice work, look good.

Excellent manipulation. Colors are brilliant. Your great grandmother was very beautiful.
