That text is a very poor choice, and has boring placement too. The background is very pixelated (is that what you were aiming for?) The render looks like it wasn't even blended into the background at all I wish I knew where I could redirect you to a tutorial for gimp.. but I don't know of one.
I was going for a pixalized background and the render to me looks fine (maybe thats just me) What I will ask is if you can find me a good font?
