I use gradient maps although this is the wrong forum.
Sometimes I brush with colors and set em on hue with 40% opacity or I use fotofilters.
    Find your own way
    .

Or don't you mean the colors?

Moving to General Discussion due to lack of Graphic Forums at this point, for future reference, if you need assistance on a graphical matter (assuming you're not going to bombard the forums) then feel free to post it in General Discussion.

    That is how you blend.

Also, you can make a crude outline with the lasso and give it a bit of feather and delete.

Or, you can use the eraser tool and lightly go around it!

    Proper way to blend...

Also, depends what kind of blending you're talking about..

If you want to fit a render into a bg, you'd have to color match and light match and all that... basically go for realism... if you want to make a sig with shinny effects, just lay a bunch of crap over it and eventually it looks good.

right click and select a soft brush, something a bit big and then softly erase outside of the outline of your render, just do it very lightly, you can always erase more if necesarry

Never use erasers :P They are the tool of the devil.

[mock converstaion] (the person is talking to himself, #1 is his sane self, #2 is his alter ego)

Person #1: AWESOME!!! I got this perfect stock off of iStock and now I'm going to make it into a signature that give me world renown fame!!!

Person #2: Yeah, you and what Michelangelo...

Person #1: *miffed* whatever *proceeds to make the sig*

Person #2: heeeyyy... lookin' pretty good, but you needa to smudge a little here 'n there

Person #1: Yeah... you're right, I do. *starts using layer masks*

Person #2: NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! Layer masks are the tool of the devil, use the eraser.

Person #1: *confused* but... uhhh... layer maska are better?

Person #2: only if you're n00b. Use an eraser if you're --- ^^' and you ARREEE --- right?

    Person #1: yeah

Person #2: then use the freaking eraser

    Person #1: Okay *uses eraser*

    *short time later*

Person #1: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! it's RUINED!!!!!! *cries*

Person #2: You used the eraser?

    Person #1: *crying* yush q.q'

Person #2: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, you were really n00b to let me trick you into doing that? You saved yourself some time but you MESSED IT UP N00BIE!! bwahahaha now you gotta redo it. I bet you overwrote your iStock stock too :D

Person #1: no I didn't, you did while I was possessed by you.

Person #2: oh yeah, that was fun :D

    Person #1: Q.Q'

Narrator: Moral of the story, always use layer masks. bwahahahahaha *coughcough* uhh... sorry, I have a cold I keep "bwahahahaha'ing for no reason... o_O' am I being possessed?

    --End of story--
Epilogue: Person #1 turned out to be Michael Jackson's alter ego and Person #2 was him from the future.
after that mistake michael jackson quit graphics forever and took up music... the rest is history. However Michael and only Michael is dumb/smart enough to screw up/get rich like that.
I hope you can learn your lesson from this poor person's tale of woe... (okay I'm just kidding with the story but it COULD happen)
