I was just wondering how do u really blend i know there's the smudge brush and there is layering and filtering but wat is the official official way to blend? cus woulding smudging technically be blending?
I use gradient maps although this is the wrong forum. Sometimes I brush with colors and set em on hue with 40% opacity or I use fotofilters. Find your own way . Or don't you mean the colors?

http://www.blendtec.com/ That is how you blend. Also, you can make a crude outline with the lasso and give it a bit of feather and delete. Or, you can use the eraser tool and lightly go around it!

Proper way to blend... Also, depends what kind of blending you're talking about.. If you want to fit a render into a bg, you'd have to color match and light match and all that... basically go for realism... if you want to make a sig with shinny effects, just lay a bunch of crap over it and eventually it looks good.
right click and select a soft brush, something a bit big and then softly erase outside of the outline of your render, just do it very lightly, you can always erase more if necesarry
