    Anyone here run a website?
I'm doing around $100 a month. My best month was $350
Just opened up a new site with great traffic already so I'm looking to double, if not triple that.
Also about to cash out on my first commission junction payment. 1 dollar away :/.

How do I make money off a site, I am hoping you're doing something other than Subscriptions on the site and ads?

Nah I don't do subscriptions or anything like that.
Just write unique content, SEO and keep my unique visitors count up.
Google is your friend. I get around 500 google hits daily.
All I use is Adsense and like I said above, commission junction.

    It's fairly simple.
I've owned multiple hosting accounts on godaddy for quite some time now, as well as over 10 domains.
Set up a hosting account with godaddy and use a domain for it.
You can even use a free blogspot or wordpress account.
My website is no advertising and I just opened a new one earlier this week.
Set up ads in strategically placed locations. Use strong keywords as well as a good domain name so search engines rank you higher. The more relevant your keywords are to your domain and your niche market the higher you will rank.
When people load your page (with the ads on it) it counts as an impression.
When someone clicks an ad and purchases something, or simply clicks, you get paid based on some formulas.
Very easy to set up and track. Adsense.com and I track my unique visitors and keyword hits with google Analytics.

He has a blog that advertises through it's posts. The link was changed for breach in the advertising rule. Re-edited to avoid confusion.

Isn't the linked out thing just an example?

Anyway, I don't use AdSense. Don't have a website for it. But, a guy I knew made around $250 on it. Made a proxy, ran it for a month, sold it. About $1,000 from the sale, $250 from adsense. (Pretty decent business. Haha.)

adsense + proxy is just risky, because your account can get smart priced.

I made a proxy and made $130 in 3 weeks, I wont do it again because I got so much Iran/Iraq/China visitors.

How is my website not a real website with real content?
    http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/3474/65130358.jpg
It's content aimed at my niche market. BlackBerry users looking for free themes for their phones.
    It isn't ad plastered either.
You can't have more than 3 ads per page, if you do the 4th and on get blanked out and you can't see them.
The front page on my site uses ad links from adsense. They blend with the page so you don't even see them unless you're reading the content and stumble across them.
The posts use image links with content related to blackberry's.
My site is on the first page for a lot of blackberry related keywords. This is because it's 'content rich.'
For example, search game renders, gaming renders. This website comes up. But if you search 'renders' it is the 9th result.
(Websites with lower pr and age are displayed above it).
Primary example of a non content rich website or a content rich website with poor keywords and ineffective use of content display.

Also hit my first $50 mark for commission junction. My new website brought in $10+ on the first 2 days I displayed cj referral ads on it.
Very effective method if your referrals Target your niche market.
