Alright, it’s pretty simple. No glitches involved at all. It doesn’t guarantee you hosting but it does guarantee you a better connection and a better chance of getting host. I usually host half of the matches when I do it.

This only works for people who are on a modem. If you’re running cable, dsl, etc.

Normally a Modem has a router connected to it to send signals to other computers and devices. What this does is split your connection multiple times. For instance, if you’re running 2 laptops, and xbox and a pc on a 7 mb connection you will probably average 1 Mb on each. That’s what happens to me.

I have a 7 mb connection but I cap out at 1.5 Mb rapidshare, email, megaupload, etc download speeds. That’s because my connection is split. To fix this what you do is the folowing.

1. Unplug your router.
2. Take out Ethernet cord that is connected from modem to router or modem to pc.
3. Plug Ethernet cord from Xbox 360, Ps3, or any other device directly into the modem.

Now you will receive your full connection directly to your Xbox. My friend has I believe a 15 Mb cable connection and he always has a higher connection when we check in theater, after I did this I ended up having the higher connection when we went to theater because his was split a few times. My 7 Mb direct Modem to Xbox 360 connection topped over his 15 Mb (or so) split connection.

I promise you this WORKS. You will have a higher connection, less lag, and a higher chance of getting host. When I do this I also have a FULL BAR connection at all times.

Downfalls are for the time being you will not be able to access internet on any other devices in the house because the Xbox Live will have a direct connection. But it sure helps for those hardcore players wanting to get ALL OF THEIR CONNECTION.

It’s just that simple guys and girls. This also works for PC games, you’ll just have to unplug the router.[/b]

I've been using a split connection for quite a while and yet i still get host 90% of the time =/

This is meant more for people with lower connections such as mine (7mb).
