The iPhone 3.0 firmware really sucks arse? I've been trying my level best at successfully connecting the damn device to the iTunes, but iTunes keeps on freezing. Help, anyone?

    It's a 16GB with 3.0 Firmware.

    Oof?
Works fine for me, are you sure you've got the latest iTunes? and tried re-installing it?

One thing I have noticed is my battery consumption seems to have risen since 3.0

^Mainly because of your push apps
Nothing to do with your 3.0 firmware. Check if your drivers are up to date for the iPhone or if they are existent to begin with.

Battery consumption was mentioned in one of the disadvantages of the firmware 3.0 as I read it somewhere last night.

I've tried everything in this thread. That Apple support site is full of bull----, they don't help at all. I have a doubt that it's the USB cable, and I'm going to try and change it today to see what happens. Fortunately the guy I bought this from has a notebook at work so we can try this and that over there. Shynes, I had an iPhone 2G before and on the same computer with the same OS, it worked perfectly fine, it was an 8GB. This one was bought yesterday and WTF!

I took the iPhone to the person that I bought from and he plugged it in using my cable and it worked absolutely fine. I noted down his iTunes version and now when I installed the same one, it doesn't seem to be working again. Could it be because I'm using Vista Ultimate 64-bit? That guy is using Windows XP.

PS: It seems that my USB doesn't recognise the device most of the time I connect it with the PC.

Might be a possibility. I bought mine used as well and I can plug it into my iTunes fine no problem. Possibly try a system restore and reinstall it on YOUR itunes. Thats what I did.

Other then that I love the 3.0 firmware, works great

I've already fixed the problems mate, had everything to do with my cable, bought a new one (made in China) and it works good as hell! :D
