If by 'crap' you mean the most played MMO in the history of gaming, sure not even mentioning the absurd popularity of DotA, HoN, and the standard online versions of previous warcraft games. No, I won't. I never go to the theaters anymore. In regards to the movie, the Q&A by the designer at Blizzard stated they are intending to make the movie closer represented to the 'Old Horde' vs Alliance. IE Warcraft 2 and earlier if I remember right? It is being produced by Legendary Pictures, who did Superman Returns, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, 300, Watchmen, Observe and Report (given, horrible), The Hangover and 10,000 BC, all very high grossing movies, and all relatively awesome. It is being directed by Sam Raimi who is most popular for being the director of the Evil Dead series and Spiderman series. Overall, I doubt it will be *amazing*, but it certainly shouldn't be as fail as many of the recent movie releases have been, and regardless of how good it is, it is going to gross high by name.
I don't think it will gross high by name at all, the player base of World of Warcraft isn't enough alone to make it a high grossing film, and unless the trailer is awesome and the film looks good in its own right then there will be very little audience who don't play WoW. Though the director's good and the production company behind him, I simply can't see this working as a live action film and think if it'd been complete CG it would work far better. It's going to be DBZ all over again. Then again, I'm biased.
To make a movie out of this (and a good one) would mean to pull a monkey out of some dudes ass. It'll be an interesting development (if it goes through).
Really? Raimi? ... i mean... really... you got to be kidding me... spiderman 3 failed 30 days of night can hardly be considered an adaptation, more like a rewrite drag me to hell starred the I AM A MAC guy michael bay would've even been a better choice, and that's saying something at least hasbro would've been able to make some cool toys then
I heard they are making a Halo anime though. Anyway, regarding if it will be succesful or not, with the amount of fans and people that know of it's name, then I'm sure it will be. Regardless of if it is good or bad people will see it for itself, just like with Transformers 2.
I don't know, those are two very fail directors right there. At least Michael Bay delivers mind-blowing CGI though... The WoW cinematics are amazing, which would lead me to lean towards a full CGI movie. However, fully animated movies aren't that immersive in my opinion unless of course it is done by pixar. A live action/CGI mix might be interesting. Thinking Gollum.
hmm Warcraft Movie. It might not be cool in means of story but i'm sure the special efects will be nice.i'm going to watch it just for fun.I don't care about what movie i'm watching if i got somebody to watch it with me

Hmm im pretty curious about the Warcraft movie....On one side, i think it will be a pretty good movie...But on the other side, I also looked forward to seeing Dragonball Evolution (I know, pretty weird, but iloved the anime series 6 years ago) and i have to admit....horrible, terrible...what a waste of the DragonballZ as we know it....
