I dunno what system we use here in NZ for marking driving tests, but I didn't indicate on any roundabouts, didn't check any intersections, drove ~10km/h over the speed limit most of the test, and cut a few people off.

Tester wrote me out my temp license, said my real one would be in the mail, and then I drove home.

Majors. Anything that causes anyone to slow down or stop or change direction counts as a major, so pulling out of a T Junction with a car coming on your right that has to slow down to let you past, that's a major and a fail. Also get a major if you get 3 of the same minor, if you look at the gear stick 3 times in your test, it's a major, if you stall 3 times, it's a major.

    Because it's epic.

    And I failed.
Though I'm appealing against it, no minors, one major. The major was for "Steering" around a roundabout, when I was told to go right (third exit) so, as you're meant to, I stuck to the inside next to the island, failed because apparently I was meant to be on the left. Though you're not.

Yup. Didn't even do anything wrong. Ringing up the DVLA to appeal and try and get it corrected, if not, meh, easy pass next time assuming my examiner's not a ------wit.

That's sucks. Do you have to wait a certain amount of time to take it again?

Yeah, but only about 10 days, I'll re-take it in two weeks or something.

It's my experience that most of the testers seem to hate life and project that hatred onto you. I did okay on my test until the very end. She marked me down for crossing an intersection when there was a bike coming, but the bike was far away. Said that the bicyclist had to slow down, which wasn't true. I was still a bit inexperienced, so when I asked her about it, she took it personally and decided that I was a horrible snob. I'm pretty sure she was angry that I passed, because she walked into the DMV and told my mom that I was the worst person she'd ever had to score and started insulting me. Then the rest of the staff got in on it and verbally attacked both my mom and I.

Too bad there's no place to complain. That's the DMV for ya.

Hope you can get it corrected. Pretty lame that you got failed for that.

Same price as the initial test, £68 or something.

Well good luck then, it's a shame that they have to be so particular about everything. They should rather take it a bit easy on the new learners. At least here, it's not that difficult, if you drive with full confidence and the examiner is in a good mood, you're probably rolling on your own feels within a week or sometimes maybe even the next day!
