I actually haven't heard of these guys...

    but they intrigue me.

Has anyone else heard of their stuff/bought anything?

If so, does it seem ok?

I'm just curious what you guys think about them... I'll plug a link here, too.

If you're wondering why I'm curious, it's because I'm probably going to be in the market for another desktop in a couple years here, and I'm just browsing around now, haha.

The red CPU on their main page looks like a Transformer... Just saying.

But really, I dunno. Never used them.

I think their site is hideous. It looks like a porn website, except instead of tits, vag and ass, I get a giant red monster... wait...

Thing is, I know a custom computer builder's shop here in my town, and they've already done great work for us. However, I'll probably be moved out by the time I need a new computer (GOD HOPEFULLY).

I'd like to build my own computers, but I've never done it before and I'd probably just... mess up.

It is almost always a better idea to build it yourself over trusting a site like ibuypower.com. For 1 - if you get the computer from them (after 6 weeks of shipping), and it is broken then you need to contact them, let them know its broken, and then get the RMA and spend another 10 weeks waiting to send it out to get it repaired *if* it even gets repaired, for it to come back to you. For 2 - The wires are most often screwed up and you could do better with no experience in cleaning up your case, this causes additional heat in your case leading to worse performance.

Honestly, if you aren't comfortable building your own computer, buy the parts and have the local computer shop do it for 50-100 or something, or just google the steps to building a computer from scratch (its honestly really really simple most of the time).

Not saying I have had a personal experience with ibuypower.com, but I have had a couple of computers built by lower end computer designing websites that have just been horrible. In the end, the hassle of dealing with their customer support ended up with myself preferring to just re-buy all the parts I wanted at a local shop and building it then scrapping the piece of shit parts they sent me (most of which were RMA'd and faulty on delivery).
