so, why not just make it something that WONT send people away from the forum, instead of taking a gamble whether it will make them leave or not?

You guys are getting a little too deep here.

'Look at me, I'm an attention whore!" will most likely make a newcomer think it's bad to post in that section in fears of being labeled as an "attention whore" not only by the GR community, but perhaps by himself.

Suggesting that somebody says "Look at me" (which I think is demeaning and immature) when they post in that section also constructs an unwelcome atmosphere in general.

Just read it as if you've never been to GR before.

I think it should just be changed back to an Introductions Thread description and we can stop all this.

    Just pointing out the truth.
And that is why I said "if People Really want it changed so bad then they need to post some ideas and Maybe staff will take it into consideration."

Here I will start off with some right off the top of my head.
Welcome to Gamerenders, so I hear you are new around these part's so why not introduce yourself to others?
Welcome to Gamerenders I think it is time to say hi.

We need something that keeps the joking atmosphere with also being serious at the same time.

I personally couldn't care less about it, but Marforce does have a point.

I don't see any problems with keeping it how it is, and I don't see any problems with changing it. Do whatever you feel is best for the site.

So we have 18 who... don't care or like it, and 9 whom want it changed with... 2 maybes? How the **** can you 'maybe' something like that when an 'I don't care' option is available?

eh? You can't combine the "don't care's" and the "like it" , they're just indifferent to any decision that is made. I don't see why their is a "maybe" and a "dont care". "Don't care/Maybe" is essentially null voting, so changing it is technically in the lead.

Generally accurate, however this isn't asking if we should or should not implement a change before it happens, this is a poll deciding whether they care about it the change after it happened, changing the meaning of 'don't care'.

If it raises awareness to the point of bringing up a poll, and you vote that you 'don't care' then its essentially the same message as saying you want to keep it that way. This isn't a matter of deciding in advance the outcome of a decision, just the thought process behind keeping or changing the decision.
