I'm doing a tutorial on how to skin an IPB 2.3.x forum.
I'm however not going from a premade design, but I'll be showing you around the css, images and html of the default IPB skin, which you can then alter to your own likings, creating your own skin.

But I need some member feedback on what you guys would like in the tut. Any special things such as a three image header or things like that? Just spill your thoughts out here and I'll filter out what I can do :D

I have never learned much coding myself but I used to have my partner (my coder) make three image to five image headers and footers. Those would be interesting to learn.

It would be great if you somehow gave a little light on the basic CSS knowledge that a person may need to know once he goes on about making an IPB skin, you might as well add a 'Flash' powered banner do-how.

    P.S: I agree with EccentricEggman.

It may be a pain but syntax highlighted CSS, I've found it to make it easier for newbies to understand

Depends on who you're going to target: newbies or more advanced coders.

If the tutorial is going to target the newbies you can explain some basic CSS/HTML coding, explain the coding from the current IPB default skin, show which color codes you need to alter to change something etc.
If the tutorial is going to target the more advanced coders, mention some handy scripts you can use, how to alter the header buttons (in both order and style) etc.

    imo.

I'm sure he also appreciates your feedback.

    Well, I'm sorta targetting both.
I'm nearly done with it too actually. First I explain about the Css wand what edits to make to the default skin to change the colours.
And then I move along to some html/css edits to add and expandable header, 4 image catheaders ...
    stuff like that.
