I really like this movie. If you've seen it (or read the book, which i'm assuming is pretty similar), then you know the ending is amazing! I loved how they kept adding twists, right when you thought the movie was going to end. maybe it was just me, but I thought it was going to end with the battery replacement, but then no it was too cold. Then i thought he was going to sacrifice himself in the helicopter, but no he jumped out! then i thought he would be the new pope, but no he was evil.... and i forgot the one preferitti survived...... just so many surprises throughout the whole thing. great movie IMO.
Is this movie really worth watching and do you think I would understand the movie? I'm sorry but is this movie a little religious type because if it is then I won't be able to understand it since I'm not a christian.
The movie, was abysmal. Seriously, hated it. This is probaly my fault, Angels and Demons (The Book) is my favourite book of all time, and blew the movie out of the water. The film ignored key character's and element's, I can understand to an extent in keeping the movie length respectable but some of the KEY plot points they missed out was amazing. For anyone who's read the book and loved it as I did, do not watch the film, it will not live up to the book's standard's at all. For example, the character of Kohler wasn't in the film, at all, period. CERN barely featured aside from a brief introduction, Costeu wasn't in it at all, they majorly changed a lot of the character's, the fourth preferati didn't die, the carmelengo didn't land on the rood, there was no "love interest", there was no scientific plot behind the whole thing. They destroyed one of my favourite books. So, to sum up. If you haven't read the book, go watch it, you'll probaly enjoy it. If you have read the book, don't bother, it's nothing like it. PS : Zohair, you'll be able to follow it fine if you're not christian...it's not that religious, I'm Atheist at least and followed it fine. Everything you need to know is explained right at the start of the film anyway.
been meaning to go and see this one, will catch it next week maybe... if i do ill post my review here ^^
Is it anti-christian? Just curious because I don't like any movies that are made with the intent of going against religions of any kind or personal choices or anything. I mean the trailer seems to be highly unrealistic and unneccesarily anti-catholic (not that I am catholic) it's just I like movies made solely to entertain and not to be at all politicized.
Says it all really. But if you manage to put your thoughts on the book aside or if you haven't read the book, it's quite an enjoyable film.
Movies NEVER live up to the books. Books are full of details that movies can't fully develop in a spam of 2 hours. It's unfortunate, but it's the way it is. I read the book... loved it. Watched this movie... liked it. It was 10000x better than the Da Vinci Code. It did ignore some key plot points, though. Which sucked, imo.
Eh not sure. I read Jurassic Park before I ever watched the film and loved both equally, it is possible to adapt from a book to a film well, it's just rarely done. And no, it's not anti-christian. I mean, okay it is to an extent (And actually more than the book was) but only at one brief part of the film, it's fairly anti-science too ; generally looks at both sides.
