Like Dem said, 3 hours a night raiding is relatively casual.

Considering we raided 7-8 hours, every night of the week during proper progression, which Ulduar would obviously count as.

Compared to that PVP doesn't drain nearly as much time, and it's more flexible. Most guilds don't raid after 9PM and then it's usually not only on weekdays. I used to raid within about...30 minutes of getting home from college. (Which ------s up your social life of course).

I played a ---- ton for a long time. Especially during the summer, like 12 - 18 hours a day. Haven't played in almost a year... been thinking of starting up again lol. I want to check out WotLK.

Well yeah, you raid 8 or so hours (More if you're serrriously hardcore), when I moved into the SWP guild we raided more than that even, Social life got entirely killed, so I quit.

WotlK's basically BC to be honest, but a bit easier. The whole "Hard" mode thing was a good idea though.
I'm shifting between staying away and coming back, it's been about 3 months since I quit now so desire to come back isn't nearly as big, then again, I'd love to, then again, I like having a social life. And playing as a casual is just so ------ing boring.

Says the person who has... no clue.

WotLK hard modes in Ulduar are actually challenging. They aren't pre-nerf m'uru by any means, but look at the 10m algalon table. It took the #1 guild in the world, who leveled to 80 and downed Naxx, Sarth and Maly within 72 hours, a few weeks just to get the 10m hard modes down for Algalon (and yes, unlike in Naxx 10, Ulduar 10 is actually *MUCH* easier than Ulduar 25). It will take them at least another week before getting Algalon down in 25m, which puts it up to roughly 6-7 weeks of content for the #1 guild. Last I checked... 6-7 weeks is about what most guilds spent on pre-nerf M'uru and Kil'Jaeden, so its reasonable to say the hard modes put the spark of life back into hard core raiding.

WotLK is by far funner than BC. The themes are more realistic, the whole game was designed much better and much more in line with the lore, storyline, plot, characters, etc.

Regarding raiding 8 hours a day... I have been in the top 5 horde guilds in the US, if you pushed 6 hours a day, it wasn't because of progression, it was because you were pushing for a world/us first. Even hardcore guilds have to sleep and work.

I was never around for much of BC at all, but regarding the time it took for them to clear Algalon, would it not be mainly because of the 1 hour timer each week to down him?

Not sure if there was a similar thing back in Sunwell then, but 5-6 weeks in this time round would only be 5-6 hours wouldn't it. Along with the time it took them to get there by clearing hard modes, about 3-4 hours?

They downed him relatively quickly after getting the other hard modes down.

Keep in mind only like 3-5 guilds in the world have done hard mode mimiron 25m, and he is required to access algalon.

This is not only failing to mention that the timer was announced in advance, guilds don't just brute force algalon down like a large portion of old content was capable of. Either you sat down between pulls, analyzed what went wrong, replaced people who needed to be replaced, stacked your group, etc. or you failed, repeatedly and you won't down algalon.

It's arguable that it is harder to complete the hard modes prior to him to gain access than it is to kill him (in particular, as said above, mimiron).

In 10m, many guilds are near killing him, but 10m is dramatically easier than 25m. The hard mode 10m are arguably less difficult than the 25m easy modes.

10man hard does not stack up to 25man easy in most senses. While I agree tenfold, Ulduar is much harder and alot more fun than Naxx. I'm really content with the level of difficulty seen in ulduar. Granted, Im not in a top 20 guild in the world, but, after having almost all of the hardmodes in 10man done before we could down yogg25 says a lot about the encounter.

On another note, looks like CUTIES ONLY has been busting ass so far, hated that you had to part ways with them Dem <3

CUTIES isn't doing well except on fights with a dps race.

They aren't very tactical, mostly just beastly in their raid stacks for dps / tanking. If its a dps race, or requires little/no tactics, they will most likely be at one of the top areas (hence why they hold top 20 records on each boss fight on WMO in the world).

I am enjoying Nightmares Asylum atm. They don't move extremely fast, but the group of guys is solid. Everyone in the guild can improve, however... and our heals are really sub par to the average high end guild (they are like top 50 in the us atm) so on dps race fights like mimiron hm, xt 002 hm, general vezax hm, etc. we need to stack healers and pick up the slack dps spots between all of us who actually know what were doing.

Well, I'm playing again and I've resumed levelling my Shaman. Took him from 58 to 70 in a week and a half, and now I'm just working on finishing the last 10 levels and I'll hook up with a guild and start doing end-game raiding.

If anyone's playing Ally on Tichondrius, gimme a yell.

Haha, I'm sure. I'm using a combination of Outlands/Northrend quest gear, and a few 60+ instance blues. You'll rip me to shreds.

Mal'Ganis is single handily the best server I have been on Horde side for everything except lag (and even then, their lag really isn't all that bad).

The whole player base there is like... not retarded, they actually have some slight clue about what they are doing.
