Hey, welcome back man. I was going to post in the other topic, but I wanted to check this one as well first, then decided I might as well just post in this topic, so that it what I will do. It is good to see you back and recuperating. I am glad your surgeries went well. I must comment on your photos because they are absolutely breathtaking. The colors in the second and third are just wonderful. So rich and vibrant and the right blends. I look forward to seeing more, and wish you a speedy recovery so you can get out and take some photos.

Color one of the doggy looks better, just because he blends in with the carpet so well. Grayscale might have worked if you'd tweaked the values for the colors a bit more, since the lighting is absolutely beautiful in that photo :). Was this HDR or mock HDR (which is messing with recovery and fill light, a RAW feature)? You've got a little noise from your editing, but it's easily fixed using masks. Just do noise reduction in the already blurred areas :)

I like the editing on the birds. High contrast and saturation gives a nice grungy effect. I just don't like that car there :P

Glad to hear you're doing better! I wasn't sure, but I figured your disappearance was health related.

If you can afford $25/mo, I'd also recommend another learning tool that doesn't require leaving the house. Lynda.com offers tutorials of all sorts, teaching you how to use Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign, everything. Even has sections on programming. Great site, worth the money. The tutorials are extremely well made and informative, and they've started giving certificates if you complete an entire group of tutorials (averaging about 11-15 hours per group). I think my favorite thing is they teach Photoshop for photographers and designers.
