Well First off I have an AMD Athlon X2 Brisbane Stock Clocked at 2.9gigahertz along with an ASUS M3A78 CM. The problem occurred today when this computer didn't boot at all no beep codes or anything. I have already checked the power supply and all the drives and all are working correctly. I also pulled RAM out and didnt get any beeps... so I'd assume the board died, but is there any other way to test the motherboard or even the CPU to make sure that its not one or the other. Both proc and mobo are still under warranty from both Newegg and they manufactures. Thanks in advance
Nothing happens as in.. NOTHING? You hit the ON button on your PC -- no LED indicator at the back of your PC (if you have one at all) is on, your screen doesn't do shít, it is ALL DEAD? Then you should be looking for a new psu.
this happened to me, when I would turn on the computer, the heatsink fan would spin for about 2 seconds, then stop. It was the PSI that went bad. Try finding a local shop that can test it for you for 10 bucks, or rip one out of another computer and test it.
its definitely not the powersupply...it powers up the drives and my computer... + the fans. (its my parents computer). I suppose it could be the onboard gfx card or something but i dont have anything to test for that
If you used to hear beeps and don't hear any now (some cases don't have a speaker) then I think it's your motherboard. And by powering your fans does that include your CPU fan or just your case fans?
They could have disconnected the jumper wire for the speaker at one time too Sounds like either a bad gfx card, in your case, on board. if you have spare vga or dvi cables try switching them on the monitor. You could always just obtain some gfx card and plug it into a PCI slot and test it. If you get a feed then its the onboard gfxs.
