Hey, my current heatsync (Stock) doesnt work as well as i require it to.

Im looking for a heatsync which performs very well under a budget.

I was wondering what the best heatsync+fan to get for an Intel 775 socket CPU would be.

My price range is £30-35 but may be able to stretch a little bit more.

    Thanks!

Zalman 9500AT, I've got the AM2 version of this and its one of the best coolers i've had, pretty much silent in a standard case and over a period of 6months+ uptime, core temps didn't go anywhere above 55c

Thanks, reading up on it now, seems to be really good - all the reviews are massive positives.. under £30 as well!

Anyone else got any other suggestions? Wana check a few out before making a decision.

    NOTHING zalman makes screams value.

from what I sw, the tuniq ower fits your bill.

downsides, IT IS HUGE. upsides, within a few degrees of the BEST coolers and half the price. When that thing came out in 2006 EVERYONE wanted one, they were incredible back then, and they still are now.

fits in most standard size cases. It IS large though. it's one of those things you'd have to measure for.

is it a dual core or quad core? Are gonna overclock it or just looking for something better than the stock? If you want something better than stock http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....amp;subcat=1395

If you are gonna overclock your cpu the Tuniq will work also this will too http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....amp;subcat=1395

The 120mm heatsinks will fit in most mid tower case but if your case has a side intake fan it probably wont fit if its located in the upper section of the side panel. Zalmans are overpriced for their performance.

I've heard the mugen is quite noisy, as with the ultra-kaze fans scythe make...

thats because the Ultra Kaze is a cheap fan with sleeeve bearings that undervolts like crap. The only reason its popular is because it pushes a ton air for $10 and its 120mmx38mm which has better static pressure (which helps on heatsinks) than say a regular 120x25 fan. Scythe does make some awesome fans the S-Flex series.

the 9500 is the best of the mediocre coolers or the worst of the good coolers...
take your pick. the mugen is in the middle of the good coolers.
