Do we have any Entrepreneurs among us? Either online or offline!

I've been getting into the idea of being an Entrepreneur lately, however I can't get my head around where to begin once you have an idea & even coming up with a good idea (seems a lot like luck to me for this one haha). So I wanted to hear some of your stories! Tell us what you do / how you got started / where you got the idea from! (No advertising though remember!)

A friend of mine writes E-Books and sells those, along with other products and he seems to be doing pretty well for himself and he's only 19!

The idea of setting up your own business seems like a big one but lots of people are doing it and even some as young as 10! It's crazy. Heres a link to a story about young Australian entrepreneurs

I'm sure we must have a few of them!

No such thing as entrepeneurs these days. New ideas are old, and the latest and greatest is just yesterdays news with a new Wordpress theme.

The money isn't in new ideas, it's in making ideas everyone had but didn't think would work into a viable business.

Google, youtube, facebook, etc. They looked at things that already existed and found ways to make them popular.

Google: Exactly like Yahoo! except no bulky ads to slow it down.

Facebook: Exactly like Myspace except everyone doesnt have ridiculously "pimped" profile pages that make you want to tear your eyes out. Practical interface.

Youtube: Reduced the quality of the videos meaning even your ----ty 256k dsl users can browse videos comfortably.

    ETC ETC ETC

No matter what clever idea you have, someone else has already had it, and the only way to make money of it is to have the best outcome, not the best idea.

I buy returns/used/salvaged/new items in bulk from wholesale websites and factories and sell them on ebay, craigslist, etc.

being an entrepreneur is fending for yourself. everyone here is in a way doing that, if they have sold stuff for credits on the GR forums. when you being to think like that, and push yourself harder, you will make results and earn money.

you really really have to focus though and read up on your ---- and push it. its a very satisfying thing to sell your work. and its not necessarily having something revolutionary to be successful like the guy above said. its a lot of the matter of, being in the right place at the right time, talking to the right people, having the right clients, etc

A trend I notice with entrepreneurs is that they all have the same website layout. Having an original and creative layout may help you because they see you put a lot of work into your website, you must have put a lot of work into your product.
