During ovulation women look for males for sex. They look for the strong build, with very male characteristics (large muscle mass, wide shoulders, strong jaw, etc.). That aspect is programmed into females. During other times they look for more feminine men who will be better suited for building and maintain a family. This is pretty general, but it's the norm, basic idea.
