overall a nice piece but i think it is a bit too bright and could have some more going on in it. also maybe work on the text a little

Refrain from adding text to your tags for awhile until your comfortable with it.

Check out some PSDs, they help you to see how things are made and really do make you better :)

For a first try it's pretty damn good. I remember when i first started many years ago, back when the Cloud Filter was the rage, looking back at it i sucked ass. XD But this looks pretty good, other than the font you used, but even old school designers sometimes find it hard to choose the right fonts, i know i do. So keep it up, my friend. You've chosen a great time to start designing, there's so much going on and there's ton's of way's to learn, plus everyone here on GR is willing to help and teach you all they know. So good luck, never feel embarressed to ask for tips and keep those creative juices going!

Only thing i wanna add to all this..it looks like you stretched the render (lancelot :D) out of its original proportions makin it look fat/wheird, ALWAYS hold the shift key when stretching or shrinkin a render cause you dont want a weird lookin one..for its the eye catcher and generally the focal of your sig.

Pretty good for a first, as everyone said, work on the lighting. And.. don't stretch the render too much... you know?
