Let's see you shoot a ball from 23 feet out into a hoop that's 18 inches in diameter.
Let's see you play 82 games in a season, playing for 48 minutes against ridiculous athletes.

Face it. You're judging basketball as "complete ----" based on "obvious reasons" that clearly only you agree with.

    you obviously don't watch basketball.

    boston lost KG.
boston only lost because of a missed free-throw.
derrick rose is a freak of nature.

detroit isnt even an underdog, they've won championchips twice since 2000 and made a trade that corrupted their team.
they have no chance of beating the cavs. ever anymore

coming from maybe the most avid nba fan on GR, i have seen all 82 cavs games, you should basically be exempt from ever taking about basketball.

    no offense though.

cavs will win the championships, only team that cant even come close is the lakers.

23 feet. Been there done that. Maybe next time say 47 feet or something.

48 minute games aren't a big deal. Like I said, football players play 90 minute games along with stoppage time which rounds out to about 95 minute games every week, sometimes even twice a week within the span of a few days considering some of the best teams in the world play in various competitions besides their own first division leagues. 48 minutes is essentially half of what a normal football match is. Not only that but most players perform for their international country as well which adds up to more games. Along with charity games, all-star games, etc.

Sorry but the fatigue suffered by football players along with their own endurance is much greater than of a basketball players. Which in turn makes them batter athletes.

Let's consider the sizes of both the court and the field. I looked up a basketball court's size and it's about 94 ft long x 50 ft wide. Okay. A football fields dimensions can vary but it's always around 120 yards x 76 yards more or less a few yards.

    94ft x 50ft = 4700 square feet for a basketball court.

    120(3) = 360 ft.
    76(3) = 228

    360ft x 228ft = 82,080 square feet for a football field.

Now, let's think here for a few seconds. Who are the better athletes? The guy who runs around for a while tossing a ball back and forth often times just standing there bouncing it and sometimes if it's possible putting it through the hoop or jumping to it ooooooooooorrrrrrrrr the guy who runs his ass around making tactical plays, slide tackling, holding his own defense together and sometimes even keeping balls out of his net and most importantly scoring?

chicago, dallas, detroit, and philly are the underdogs imo. LA, Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando are the teams to beat. Philly and Chicago beat Orlando and Boston. I know it's game 1, but it still says something big.

The end will be LA vs. Cleveland no doubt.

Neuron, you can say what you will but basketball requires more skill than playing football. Basketball requires hand-eye coordination as well as mobility. No slight on footballers as they are all fit, but who has hand-eye coordination other than the goalie?. The rest get by on lower body strength. As for all the guy you mention, "runs his ass around making tactical plays, slide tackling, holding his own defense together and sometimes even keeping balls out of his net and most importantly scoring?". That guy also figures into basketball in the form of a guard, setting up plays so his team can execute them, playing defense by racking up steals, and keeping the ball out of his end by blocks.

why is no one mentioning the MIAMI HEAT!!!!!

btw amp, im diggin the CAVS pic.

ROFL, first off, I've played both basketball and soccer at the varsity level. Basketball takes much more coordination. You can't just dribble and expect to get by someone, you have to do something. Basketball players run about the same amount as soccer players, not only at the varsity level, but the -----, they run for a minute then watch the game. Basketball players are constantly moving. Constantly sprinting. You have OBVIOUSLY NEVER played on a serious basketball or soccer team, you run about an equal amount for preparation of a game. Soccer is much easier, it takes A LOT less skill to kick a soccer ball and make the goal, then shoot a basketball and make it. You act like kicking a ball is so complicated. Maybe it is for you, but for me and most people I know, it's pretty simple. Just don't use your toe, and your logic makes no sense whatsoever, because they "supposedly" run more it makes them better athletes? How about coordination? It's basic math, kicking a ball into a BIG GOAL, is easier, then shooting the SAME size BALL INTO A SMALLER GOAL 10 FEET IN THE AIR IS OBVIOUSLY HARDER. I seriously, don't think I can get any clearer.

Actually a more difficult game is the one played by ancient american civilizations, which involved teams kicking a hard, heavier ball at high speeds that had to go into a small hoop like basketball. The losing team was killed.
