When i type text and add a drop shadow and add some color through the blending options. when i try to use Copy N Paste by selecting the text. (not copying the layer) the options that were in my blending options do not get selected.
For example, my drop shadow will not get selected nor the colors. is there a way i can do fix it. to where it does select the drop shadow? i know there is cuz iv made tons of stuff. i just dont get what im missing. and im trying to make a Counter strike Spray and i need the drop shadow selected or it wont fit in

    Thank you

Copying will only copy the content. Blending modes and layer styles are not counted as content. Not only that, but the clipboard couldn't store that information anyway. When you copy something, it's stored in a temporary location. The clipboard really only supports images and text.

Instead of copying, you want to duplicate the layer. Go to Layer>Duplicate Layer. It keeps everything.

Right click on the layer and hit "Copy Blending Options" or something to that effect.

Stop using control click, since it's pointless in this situation. Like I said, go to Layer (in the top menu), and click on "duplicate layer". You can also right click and select duplicate layer, I've just always used the menu. If you're trying to copy it to a new canvas, drag and drop the layer.

Copy layer style will only copy the style (ie your drop shadow), not the layer content itself. To paste the style, you need to right click on your target layer and select "paste layer style".

PROTIP: Shadows look gay on text.

PROTIP: No, they look good if you use the in web design, or anything else. Tags and large pieces aren't the whole world of Photoshop and shadows.

PROTIP: Drop shadows really never look good. Jamesx seems to want to spread the age old cynical claim of people who can't make sigs that sigs aren't the whole of Photoshop, etc. Go back to designing Geocities pages.

PROTIP: right click the layer, and go to 'create layers', then control click the separate text shadow layer. Enjoy.

    this

I've never seen them used in professional graphics. If they are used, it's so minimal that it separates the text from the background without being visible. The shadows I see are custom done and only used to make the letters look like they're standing up, not floating.
