So, I downloaded this movie from the internet. Legally, of course. It took me a while to get it to even play, I had to download several new plug ins for my Windows Media player before it could even be opened. Now that I finally have it open, I get this message everytime i open it:

After I click out of several of those windows.. I get to the video. It plays, somewhat. Whenever I try to seek through the video (since it's long as hell and I only need to view certain parts) it says this:

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've tried redownloading the video 3 times, no luck. I will obviously pursue the author since I had paid for it, but I would rather get it working first. Thanks!

It would help if you could post what format, website, and plugs in you downloaded.

The plug-ins were directly from the microsoft website. They were just a bunch of upgrades to WMP, nothing technical just upgrading since it was an old version. I wouldn't know what to tell you about the updates.. Sorry.

The easy way to fix this is to just install VLC Media Player which can play any video format ever created. The more difficult way to fix it is to either reinstall the plug-in or to uninstall it and install CCCP (something something codec pack) or K-Lite Codec Pack.
