Who remembers opus? http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php...482&hl=opus http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php...089&hl=opus http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php...649&hl=opus Surely you all remember Kennedy: http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php...149&hl=opus In case you don't wanna click the links: Kennedy: Opus: These 2 guys we're my main inspiration while they were active, and the sort of thing I want to keep alive is the vibrant colors they used with and alongside or even as their lighting. Does anyone have any pointers for adding color streaks/lights effectively like they used to? I've been fiddling with it for a while now and the combinations I try never work out well. It also has to do with the stocks they use I'm aware... I don't know... I guess I'm kinda looking back at my old inspiration trying to find something to incorporate into my new tags :/
Wow, I know what you mean. Kennedy was one of my main inspirations on here as well. Though, I can't help you on the style xD Sorry. .. xD I've actually tried to do some of those light streaks kennedy does... but i totally failed I can never blend them in correctly, or get them to the form i want without losing its smooth feel..
Good to have you back in here Roroni But yeah that's exactly what I do xD he must just have magic powers :/
Kennedy was, and in my mind, still is the greatest artist on gamerenders. He had flawless style and made awesome use of colour. I remember making a few tags in Kennedys style (or as close as I could get), and essentially you need to lower the saturation of anything colourful during the making of the sig, and at the end pick one or two (or if you're clever, three) colours, and use softbrushing+blending modes, adj. layers, and filters, to bring out what colours you want. It's tricky to get the hang of, but I made some very nice tags following this methodology.
I'll give it a shot Inverse, it may be the sort of thing that is going to take a lot of time to develop an eye/hand for, but don't be too surprised if you guys see a number of failed Kennedy-esque tags from me xD. I love doing realism, but it gets plain ya know? I feel like combining the c4d stylings of opus with the color stylings of Kennedy over my realism I could start to come up with some cool stuff... ^_^;; Thanks again for that post inverse, gives me some direction
lol i kinda let each sig make its own style. my latest, for example, started as something waaay grungy with a concrete texture, but i ended up with something clean and bright.
