Mages deserve a period of OP, considering they were shafted for the vast majority of BC.

Agreed. I still believe Blizzard should allow us mages to wear plate armor. =D

1 year of remotely not being gods vs 3 years of being the damage gods of doom. Oh, this isn'y even mentioning that mages were just as highly represented in 3s and 5s as much as any other class considering RMP was easily one of the top 3 3v3 teams in terms of strength and *easily* the most used. Mages were nearly required in 5s. In PvE... who the F cares? PvE is the easiest thing ever. So mages came in behind warlocks, you still did better than most classes, including rogues and hunters in lower end PvE and they only started to beat you out come BT/Hyjal and Sunwell (hunters more specifically sunwell, rogues more in BT and Hyjal). Mages brought more overall utility to a raid than a lot of classes, and those that beat them in DPS were generally giving less overall utility (exception: warlocks). They fixed mage DPS in WotLK after a year of being beaten out by those stinky warlocks who were hardly even represented in s3/4 and were only really dominant when no one had a clue wtf arena was (s1 primarily, s2 is when 23/38 came about so it was a given).

In vanilla people brought 7-8 mages to 40 man raids and 2 warlocks. Mages were consistently pulling the most dps easily and the only class which could remotely compare was a rogue at the end of Naxx. That is for 3 years worth of dominance as the best dps class in the game. Warlocks were brought for the sole reason of buffing mage damage through their curses. If mages didn't put out so much damage that 10% made such a big difference warlocks would have been obsolete in a stacked raid setting.

Blizz already stated they were going to fix PvP in the future. Atm there is *far* too much burst that removes any form of fun or skill from arena play. An arcane mage can kite nearly any class between slow and arcane barrage. Death knights can death grip you and then land 3x scourge strikes for 19-20k damage if they crit. Paladins can kill you in a single hammer. Fury warriors just keep the pain coming and coming. They aren't huge burst but they rip out sustained damage like you wouldn't believe. Warlocks suck. Rogues exit stealth and die in no time, if they don't they can easily kill 2 people alone, sometimes 3. Druids are ridiculous, in full plate (not frost presence so about 14k armor) I was crit for 14k in the duration of a single stun. Clothies and leather wearers have seen crits as high as 19k and higher. Boomkins have a spot now, so I don't really care to bitch. Shamans are getting shafted as anything except enhancement in all areas of gameplay. Elemental is just... horrible and restoration took some tone downs and nerfs due to their abuse in sunwell. Priests are doing quite nicely as holy and shadow in pve and pvp, however disc's healing capabilities when paired with their defensive abilities don't compare to holy at all for pve or pvp. Hunter dps wasn't as much nerfed as pet dps was. On fights such as maly you could see a hunter who would be pulling... 4-4.4k dps go down to 2.4-2.8 dps because their pet can't attack a good portion of the time as BM. Now with the current survival spec they offer more utility, they aren't reliant on their pet and they are still pushing out the same dps numbers as they always were (ie they are more like warlocks and death knights now, they pull *some* dps but if they die you don't panic). Hunters in PvP are within the eyes of the beholder. A good hunter won't lose to anyone kitable, a bad hunter will always lose.

    It's weird.
Blizzard have openly admitted (repeatedly) that Rogues need a buff in PVE, a fairly big one too, and this applies especially to Combat Rogues.

But, though I'm still relatively under-geared compared to my guild (Having been 80 for one week today) I'm catching up very quickly on DPS, particularly in 25-mans. Blizz are going to realise again that Warriors and Rogues may be very gear dependant but when they get that gear they once again rise quickly up the DPS charts.

On another note, as a Rogue I now put out more AoE DPS in say, spider wing, then anyone else. Fan of Knives is over-powered.

If your rogues are out dpsing hunters and death knights on trash then your hunters and dks suck.

As my DW 0/33/38 spec I can push out a consistent 10-11k dps on trash, nearly 3-4k over anyone else.

Fury warriors are also a very consistently high dps class, if you look on wowmeteronline they are consistently placing in the top 10 world dps slots overall. They won't get a buff because as you said they scale extremely well with gear. They will likely be 'nerfed' (more like tweaked) later on into raid content due to scaling issues.

Yeah I'm using a fury warrior and doing very well dps-wise, generally I've topped every fight I've been in so far. We're getting somewhat of a "nerf" too as you said, which is just blizzard changing the damage of bleed because they believe it shouldn't be making up as much of our damage as it is.

Which is more of a fix, just like it was with mages.

Rolling DoT applications are overpowered, which is how bleeds currently work on fury warriors, they don't refresh the bleed, they start another one, which causes *mass* inflation as you level up. What I foresee happening is higher base damage which is coupled with lower coefficients on skills which leads to less scaling but still significant dps. However, that actually makes sense... so Blizzard probably won't do it.
