Drone metal is better than all of the ---- on that list combined. Hell yes. Though, what a way to start off with The Doors. C'mon, of all things, a compilation? Did you at least snab their debut? And as you listen to a lot more music, you do tend to see things more unified than what you assume. Allowing certain tastes and viewpoints to grow on you and accepting them will make you look back on what you DID listen to and view it differently. For instance, Nevermind SUCKS. After you listen to all the substance and heart that other alternative rock has, looking back on Nevermind makes you want to puke, it won't even be significant in changing anything anymore, in fact. Nirvanafail. =O
Yeah I just put the compilation up there cause it has a mixture of their songs. And yeah I was gonna originally say the original LP album. Nevermind sucks IN YOUR OPINION. Nirvana was the first grunge band and Nevermind is what got Nirvana famous. I certainly don't think Smells Like Teen Spirit is their best song, in fact its so generic and redundant I find it slightly annoying to listen to these days.
lol Green River was the first grunge band. In fact, I think there was one even before them, however I can't remember right now. Probably Tales of Terror. Or whatever. Dinosaur Jr. did all the sludge and graininess of grunge before Nirvana did and they did it with a lot more heart, soul, and power than Nirvana could even imagine to do themselves. Nevermind sucks because compared to everything, it has no heart as Dinosaur Jr. did. Wut stuff u wants, Penguin. I has loadz. ^___________^
How can you say there is no heart or soul in Nevermind, if you read Kurt's biography you'll realise just how much he put into all his songs and he especially hated people who didn't even think about the meaning behind the lyrics. Sure it may not be as evident in Nevermind, but in other albums like 'In Utero' there is a lot of deep meaning behind the songs, and a lot of heart and soul poured into each. Stop being a hater lol
Not talking In Utero, that was actually solid. However, Nevermind was meh. Exemplifying the heart musically is a toughy, Nirvana just had to go poof by the time they managed to finally hit the key. 'Tis sad. And Majbot. 13 Songs is epic, amirite?! ^_^ Violent Femmes woo. ^_^ Genghis Tron. ^_^

After all of this I feel kinda bad, like I really don't listen to much variety of music.. I think you could help me there as I do want to expand my listening. I have no problems with your taste, I don't really care what other people listen to and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I just object to people who claim to listen to a huge variety of music when in reality they have reasonably limited tastes.
