Started playing about 5 months ago.. Still doing fine with my Richwood over here and my cheapo GLX amp.

First thing to invest in is a pedal right now, BOSS DS-2 will be here either tomorrow over the day after tomorrow. Together with a standard for my acoustic, but that's less spectacular.

    Ahh Rig Update:

I scored myself a PRS Santana SE the other day, sounds smooth and punches hard on distortion. I might switch out the stock Pups for JB/Jazz. Also, I'm doing a sort of project with one of my older guitars. I sanded down the body and I'm planning to make it close to this finish, and place new electronics and stuff etc. The model is an Ibanez RX20.

The F holes will be painted on. It's lucky I have painting and soldering skills.

Used to play about 8 years ago. Don't have a guitar, acoustic or electric, anymore unfortunately and can't remember what I had.

The acoustic I played on was a 12 string guitar my mom got from the lead singer of pearl jam when they dated back in the early 80s when the band was just getitng started doing some small work around the country.

The electric guitar I got was a gift from my guitar tutor from his collection, something from BC Rich, either a Beast or Warbeast.

I think my mom still has em in storage somewhere with her other guitars.

Not Paul Gilbert's PGM, but I wish it was D: Dunno, I always had a thing for hollowbodies. I do need opinions on a finish though, so suggest away.

I find it hard to believe your mum went out with Eddie Vedder..

My guitar is an Ibanez Prestige, but I have played acoustic for almost all of my 4 years of learning. I had a teacher for a couple of years and just last year decided to learn my own ---- cause I was sick of going over chords for boring songs the teacher provided.. I started getting into electric guitar only a couple of weeks ago and now I'm trying to learn how to shred and play Van Halen :P

My mom was a model with Maybelline just before I was born, was featured on a center fold of Hustler and worked as a professional dancer (ie stripper) into her late 20s and early 30s. Before the band had popularity she was a major catch. We have an original 'Ten' album autographed by all the members about the time as well. She hung around a lot of the bands as a rock and roll girl into drugs and riding on her motorcycle, I think I know what I'm talking about.

Well, I started working on the guitar. Decided not to do the F-hole, but still went with the green color.

    Full body.

With the f-hole stencil, that I scrapped.

I put the neck on the see the general idea of the design, I'm adding on clear coats today and buffing it for that shine. Then after that, I'm going to add the ahrdware and electronics.

Looking great, mang. Love the color. =O I hope the electronics and hardware are as sexy as the design itself. Hope it sounds fantastic. :D

Well so far here's the plans for it:

Bridge: I don't wanna go all out and rout the body for a floyd (though it would be nice to have one) but as far as good alternatives go for a vintage style trem, a Wilkinson tremolo will be perfect for this. I barely use the trem anyway :P

Pickups: Since the body is alder, I want something that growls. The whole JB/Jazz combo is too bright. Maybe some sort of P-90 (humbucker sized) in the neck, and some sort of Alnico V humbucker in the bridge.
