I like Cecil...cause he started out as a bad guy but eventually turned into a good guy after some serious thoughts ==
From the several installments I've played I'd have to say either Balthier from Final Fantasy XII or Auron from Final Fantasy X. Balthier in a lot of ways reminded me of Gambit from X-Men with that sly, confident, and cool attitude...and maintaining that persona even in a crisis. Auron was just purely the old-school/silent badass. Of course he looked a little older so there a little bit of that "veteran" spice.
Most logical and intellectually based opinion. The games are love stories, with dramatic plots, and great emotional feel. FF8 had that and more! The character's were much more unique, they put full effort into every single character's personality, unlike 7, 9, and 10. Squall, Zell, and Seifer are my favorites. Irvine would've been, but he's kinda fruity. He's out-casted most of the time and i never liked guns... Laguna and his boys, and their connection to the main characters was AMAZING, and spiced up the story line. The GF's and Junction system was CROWN. Unique and best designed GFs. The enemies, mostly talking about Seifer's two butt buddies, were unique and also positively difficult! The Gardens and other architecture were designed so well! And...all the weapons in the game were so unique. FF8 - FOR THE WIN.
Well ALTOGETHER Cloud is my fav. His hair is awesome, same as his sword, and he's cool altoghether. My other close fav's are Vincent and Sephiroth.
All main characters of Final Fantasy from 7 up are ------s. Cloud is a lying ----- piece of ---- who nobody gave a ---- about until Kingdom Hearts came out and then "OMG HE'S SO KULZ". Squall is a -----. Zidaine is a ----- with a tail. Tidus is a -----. Vann is a DEFINITE -----. Get that damn orange dog Red XIII in here to rip their possibly non-existent balls off, please.
My favorite character is Vivi from Final Fantasy 9. Black Mage's are just awesome, and hes just this little kid who can blow stuff up.
I'd say: Zell, Barrett, and Vincent Zell just had that ------y swagger which IMO he sort of enhanced of lot of the more full moments in FF8 with a little bit of childish and ridiculous humor. Barrett was for me the original bad ass, considering i started playing final fantasy games when i was like 5 or 6 (that was like 1997) so i started with FF7. And Vincent was just god, end of story.
Well you all suck...no one even ------ing mentioned Final Fantasy Tactics...now...to liven up this thread with some more than lolthehottgirl and lolemosquall and lolcloudisleet If you haven't go play FFT, even if its a little too complex for your simple mind, grit whatever teeth you have and play through it, just to pay attention to the storyline. FFT is the -most- epic game ever, no other game has managed to capture that kind of friendship, backstabbing, love and politics lined with evil plans. I understand most of you more than likely were still in diapers when FFT released in 97. But...its the best thing square(soft) has ever done. At the time, they had a fairly unique battle system that worked quite well and succeeded where others didn't and even those after couldn't replicate (Tactics Orge). The score was amazing, one of the best soundtracks I think I've ever heard. Class development was amazing. Back on topic... ...all Im sayin
