Where would we be without jazz? I should have noted above that I'm a huge fan of Bill Evan's Conversations with Myself. Absolutely outstanding recording.
My favorite Bill Evans recordings where the ones with Scott Lafaro and Paul Motian : Portrait in Jazz, Sunday at the Village Vanguard possibly the best trio ever
Ah, I think I have that somewhere, actually. But you cannot deny the mastery of Conversations. He recorded a track and just remembered exactly what he had done; including tempo and key changes. That's sheer brilliance.
