That's respectable, I guess. But you can't argue that, from a composition point of view, they aren't musically diverse, because they definitely are.
You really need to look respectively into the genres they create. Really, it's the only way my explanation is applicable.
sounds silly but was a compilation album that changed my views on music... a smash hits album made me realise how pants pop music really is
Eazy E - easy does it is also one that made me realise that there are better rappers than tupac biggy etc
Nevermind - Nirvana Greatest Hits - Red Hot Chili Peppers Ten - Pearl Jam Nothing's Shocking - Jane's Addiction Appetite For Destruction - Guns N' Roses Nimrod - Green Day Gorillaz - Gorillaz Sex Bomb Baby - Flipper Best of The Doors - The Doors Sultans Of Swing - Dire Straits The Light At The End Of The Tunnel - The Damned Alive 2007 (and Discovery) - Daft Punk City Of Evil - Avenged Sevenfold There's a ton more I could have posted but these are examples of the abundance of genres that I listen to daily
Honestly that is not an "abundance of genres", almost every band you listed is mainstream and it doesn't matter if they involve guitars or synthesizers, mainstream music is often similar to other mainstream music. Also, this is "5 albums that changed the way you listen to music" not "13 albums you like."
First of all these are all different genres. I'll list them out for you if you want. Nirvana GRUNGE Red Hot Chili Peppers ALTERNATIVE Pearl Jam ALTERNATIVE/ROCK Jane's Addiction ALTERNATIVE Guns N' Roses ROCK Green Day PUNK/ROCK Gorillaz ELECTRONIC Flipper PUNK The Doors PSYCHEDELIC ROCK Dire Straits ROCK/Almost classic sound The Damned PUNK Daft Punk ELECTRONIC Avenged Sevenfold HEAVY METAL and I'll add one more Slayer METAL Yes, these albums ALL changed the way I listened to music. So fu
Crap Damned albums and a bunch of crap otherwise. Lame. My god, if that's the case and I can name all the albums I wanted to and not enjoy truly thinking in-depth and see what is truly important: Dinosaur Jr.'s You're Living All Over Me Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation Mos Def's Black on Both Sides Big Black's Songs About ------ing City of Caterpillar - Self-Titled Envy - Isomniac Dose Fugazi - 13 Songs Talking Heads - Remain in Light Ornette Coleman - Free Jazz Miles Davis - In a Silent Way John Coltrane - A Love Supreme Boris - Pink Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left Elliott Smith - XO Elliott Smith - Either/Or Boredoms - VIsion Creation Newsun Can - Ege Bamyasi Dinosaur Jr. - Beyond Kyuss - Welcome to the Sky Valley Faith No More - Angel Dust The Damned - Damned Damned Damned The Mountain Goats - Tallahassee They Might Be Giants - Flood FRANK ZAPPA - HOT RATS Violent Femmes - Self-Titled The Cure - Disintegration Wire - Pink Flag Wilco - Kicking Television Glenn Branca - The Ascension Deltron 3030 - Self-titled My Bloody Valentine - Loveless Mogwai - Rock Action Modest Mouse - The Moon & Antarctica Merzbow - Dharma Melvins - Houdini This damn list can go on for days. There's a beauty in condensing it to 5: You define what's really important to you.
Sublime - 40 oz. to Freedom Incubus - Make Yourself 30 Seconds to Mars - 30 Seconds to Mars Michael Franti and Spearhead - Chocolate Supa Highway Jurassic 5 - Feedback First two basically initiated the basic style of music I listen to because I was first introduced to both when I was a toddler. 30 Seconds to Mars then opened up a whole different style of poetic rock (I guess you would call it?). Roaming around looking for decent modern day reggae I landed upon Michael Franti who in my mind allowed me to explore the likes of Slightly Stoopid, 311, and other mainstream bands that I never really got into. And Jurassic 5 is just ------ing amazing so
Nirvana ROCKY GUITAR MUSIC Red Hot Chili Peppers ROCKY GUITAR MUSIC Pearl Jam ROCKY GUITAR MUSIC Jane's Addiction ROCKY GUITAR MUSIC Guns N' Roses ROCKY GUITAR MUSIC Green Day ROCKY GUITAR MUSIC Gorillaz ROCKY GUITAR/KEYBOARD MUSIC Flipper ROCKY GUITAR MUSIC The Doors PSYCHEDELIC ROCKY GUITAR MUSIC Dire Straits ROCKY GUITAR MUSIC The Damned ROCKY GUITAR MUSIC Daft Punk ROCKY SYNTH MUSIC Avenged Sevenfold ROCKY GUITAR MUSIC I see no reggae, no grindhouse. I see no dance-ska, no drone metal. I see a bunch of bands that basically lead you into a genre, because they arn't properly different, they are the image that the general public with no musical sense see a genre as. None are original, and none of them are that different to the rest. I would say that's one of the least musically diverse lists I've seen actually. And no, none of those bands changed the way you listened to music. Oh, I've just realised I havn't listed 5 albums yet. I'll do it tomorrow.

[/b][/quote] Oh I see, so because they involve a guitar they're all the same.. That makes perfect sense. How the ------ would you know the bands didn't change the way I listened to music? Do you know me, you ------ing stalking me? I don't follow ANY of these bands because of popularity, but purely because I like the sound of their music. How do you know these don't impact or relate to my life? I'm not an ignorant person who listens to music because it makes me feel cool or gets me friends. I listen because I LOVE it man. If I could have been bothered I would have posted ALL the bands I listen to and this wouldn't have started. And you're telling me I have no musical sense? You sound like one of those retards who thinks heavy metal is ---- because its just "screaming and noise". I'm sorry I don't listen to ----- dance and grind house, get used to it not everyone hears music the same just like people see art differently.
