    meh, simply split up those images and for the bottom part you can use a tile.

    ill give it a shot. though i still think its a bad layout, a vertical gradient in a contentbox?!! thats like asking for a static template

    you could cut it up as a one pixel vertical line and then have it repeat itself.
    No chance of making that box expandable though :P

    Thats what I would have done. Not sure why he would have thought of just cutting the whole thing.

    You can do gradients in CSS. However its not recommended especaially if you are going to have DSL clients. As you can see in this example

    Code:
    #d2 {background-color:rgb(255,255,1)}
    #d3 {background-color:rgb(255,255,2)}
    #d4 {background-color:rgb(255,255,3)}
    #d5 {background-color:rgb(255,255,4)}
    #d6 {background-color:rgb(255,255,5)}
    #d7 {background-color:rgb(255,255,6)}
    #d8 {background-color:rgb(255,255,7)}
    #d9 {background-color:rgb(255,255,8)}
    #d10 {background-color:rgb(255,255,9)}
    #d11 {background-color:rgb(255,255,10)}
    And this goes to 255 :P (Yellow to white)

    Even gets sloppy with the HTML

    Code:
    <div id="d1"></div>
    <div id="d2"></div>
    <div id="d3"></div>
    <div id="d4"></div>
    <div id="d5"></div>
    <div id="d6"></div>

    <div id="d7"></div>
    <div id="d8"></div>
    <div id="d9"></div>
    <div id="d10"></div>
    <div id="d11"></div>
    <div id="d12"></div>
    <div id="d13"></div>
    But it is possible.

    To the coder and client:

    You may need a splash page to allow users to choose High Quality or Low Quality. Low Quality being a simple gradient or RGB background. High being the picture. Because that picture has to atleast be 2.5-3 MB full quality. Also you have a picture behind the main content rather than a simple color/gradient.

    I'm not trying you to tell you how to create/design your templates, but you need to think about people who have DSL as well. Some as low as 2.8 KB/S. Each picture you add in there adds up. I assume he will be using AJAX/JQUERY for the gallery you have set up, even though that is some what RAM, the loading of the script and gathering pictures is also more loading time.

    I knew you didn't know about coding but just thought I'd point that out as a long time free-lancer. :)

    Good luck :)
