These, I agree with. And if they did it on purpose; good for them, we need more experimentation in music. Saying "tool sucks" is merely opinion. Although I don't listen to them, I do not want to get into an argument over what "good music" is. It's a stupid argument on a topic that is pure opinion.
Depends on what the opinion is based on would it dive into the realm of legitimate fact, or just personal thought. And there's already a lot of experimentation in music. Just gotta turn away from popularity.
Can I take that to mean that anything that's not popular is the better choice? Cause that's a load of bull if thats what you mean. And no I don't think every that's popular is great but I don't think just because a song is popular it should be judged in a different light.
