Sure does. It's kind of fun to dick around with, but I don't have a practical use for it when I'm playing with my band. It sounds great in normal use though. Lots of tone control.

I got Washburn WI100 Roland Microcube Started guitar playing about 6 months ago, so I'm kinda newb guitarist. I can only play: House of the rising sun, Smoke on the water, Mission Impossible theme and National Anthem of Finland (wtf?)
You're right. Technical skill is the only important part of playing guitar. You shouldn't just enjoy the experience of playing in a band or writing songs, right?
