The drugs he took, even combine with alcohol won't kill him. They'll cause a decent amount of liver damage. He took ~40 acetaminophen and 20 ASA. Risk of dieing from the ASA is low. The minimum amount to kill an adult would be 10g. He's just above that at 13g. He's being treated early which greatly improves his chances. From the info here, is he in bad shape.. yes. I think he'll pull through though. Besides he's far too much of a pain in the ass to go die on us.

He was drunk, the suicide was most likely impulse. I reguarly get suicidal tendencies while drunk but sober I don't consider it that often. Technically speaking there's nothing to stop him doing it again but it's highly possible he'll be thankful he was saved.* *If he survives
