Neuron, can you recommend any bands that are good vocally and musically?

Baroness are amazing musically but vocally...barf.

I don't see how they're bad vocally. I find their vocals a lot more clean and a hell of a lot more straight-forward and natural than most bands who force this big desperate amount of screaming to find some pseudo-emotion.

Though, if I recall right, I think after a while you get used to it. So *shrug* maybe time makes things like that feel more comfortable to listen to.

Maybe you should check out Red Sparrowes. Entirely instrumental metal. =O Kind of like Baroness with more post-rock influence and no vocals at all.

Yes I suppose their vocals are an acquired taste...comes after time.

    I'll check RS.

Not sure...I like ABR's vocals...but I also like STYG vocals...more of a deep growl type scream if you know what I mean.

    Eternal Lord
    I Killed the Prom Queen
    Parkway Drive
    Architects
Arsonists Get all the Girls (They alternate between Lows and Highs... pretty experimental ----)
    As I Lay Dying
    Between the Buried and Me
    The Black Dahlia Murder
    Carpathian
    Converge
    Darkest Hour
    Emmure
    xAFBx
    War From a Harlots Mouth
    Trophy Scars
    Suicide Silence
    Sky Eats Airplane
    Oh, Sleeper
    Norma Jean
    Nevea Tears
    My Hero is Me
    Misery Signals (Recent Album)
    Heaven Shall Burn

Some bands in there, about 3 or 5 are Deathcore, but you might like them. For the most part they are metalcore and a few post-hardcore in there.

Try out all of them, they all have a Myspace.

I'm surprised to see nobody talking about metal. Though i'm not a huge metal fan anyway.

Hummm bands like As I Lay Dying are:
    All That Remains
    Caliban
    Heaven Shall Burn

Not sure if you will like them though.

I'm quite into Mercenary at the moment. I love the song "Firesoul" (Older song, but good): http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=OX3wKFYuwbs - Ignore the vocals before 0:50, after that they get much better, and the music more than enough makes up for them.
But again, not sure if you will like them or not.
