my dad sorta broke my 360. he bumped something or did something else and it got one red ring (bottom right). none of the stuff MS suggested worked, so we're sending it back. what are your experiences with MS support and replacing 360s?
Did you check your warranty? Make sure you do that before you call it quits, laptop unforuntely it had no warranty , it was a compaq though
I've had RRoD twice. They sent me a brand new xbox within 3 weeks both times. Check your warranty, though. You can do it on the xbox website.
I'm still waiting for the box to ship my bother's back. He's at boot camp, so I have to deal with it. We have the two left quadrants turned red, and the 360 won't really power up. In short: something is fried. Can't even get the CD tray to open.
Are you paying for this since it isn't RROD. If they're making you pay, make it Red Ring then you'll get it fixed for free. Right now it takes about 1-2 weeks from when you ship it to get it back
It should be covered by the warranty if you have the one that came with the xbox. My brother bought an extended one (which appears to have been worth it) so this is covered. The extended 3 year warranty that Microsoft added after the fact only covers the three lights because of the commonality of this particular hardware failure. That's what I read, at least. Look on the bright side: the lights still tell you what's wrong with the xbox.
