Hello, I am sure you only know me by my "horrible" sigs...aka the "raped Kakashi" but anyways, I have an issue:

Whenever, I use gradient map on a sig (following some tut from here, not saying its the site) I tend to lose the ability to use my colors
only gray and white are available, even if I go and select red, or some other random color, It goes to a lighter shade of gray...and the trying the "Black and White" default doesn't work either, can anyone help?

oh, I use Photoshop CS2, I know it's old, but I like using it.

Clear your prefs and the issue should be fixed.

Select another layer (meaning, do not click on the gradient layer)

Your colors will return to normal.

I lol'd because of the title of the tutorial and the title of this topic. As for your problem, try what iPoo suggested.

Oh, also make sure you're not selecting a mask...

You said you change colors but it changes the gray tones.. so be sure unselect the layer mask.

    Thanks for the help

  11. Just something else, make sure the document didn't change to grayscale, because sometimes PS can do things like that.
