Spam Heaven has been around since GR became popular.

It was under a different name, 'Off Topic' which is how it will be renamed when v4 comes back.

This just goes to show that a lot of the members complaining about the site's death really don't know anything about its background.

It was offtopic. Last word was added when we changed offtopic to spam heaven. The idea you have, for the forum Last Word, doesn't make sense. So you are saying that if I infected you with a virus when you were health, active and running around, that you wouldn't get sick, slow down and loss your activness? LF may or may not have been one of the things that has caused GR to become more inactive over the year its been in. I honestly don't know.

this place isn't noob friendly because it takes 500 ------ing posts to buy a sig.
and attempts to make creds more valuable fail hard as you've all seen, all it's done is make people think: creds are worthless, why should I bother with them when I only get 200 of them for a dollar?
And there aren't many to choose from
because noone thinks creds are worth it.

deal with inflation. Accept is as fact. Adjust income/posts. Before BFTP tried to make money off of this site the reason why inflation was bad was because it hurt noobs. NOW IT IS BAD BECAUSE IT HURTS OLD TIMERS... this seems bassackwards...
drop the ---- that is so damned focused on professionalism. This is a place for people to chill and learn, or at least that's what it used to be. If you want to make it an elite site, feel free to try... the admins are bitching about people with huge egos as it is...
add an incentive for people to invite others...

OT needs to stay, LW can leave I don't care. Yes i still call spam haven off topic... If OT must leave, loosen up the rules for general discussion.
community... people come back because they like coming here. If you want a lot of people here, make this into a place that attracts a lot of people. Simple as that. No need to do anything crazy.

And you both missed the point.
Yes, off-topic may be a distraction for people ; however, find me a handful of Spam Heaven/Last Word active posters who would actually donate resources anyway? There's only a couple of people who touch those forums who give resources with or without the presence of those boards. Removing Last Word etc. (While maybe a good idea) will -not- increase the influx of resources. Your infection comment, you've infected people who weren't contributing in the first place, so it's not an issue.

Not like, last word or anything, but actual civilized debate?

Real quick i read the few posts talking about steam accounts, and i can see how that would help the "Economy" here but overall
your giving a bunch of douche bags more incentive not only to contribute to the site, but to also steal steam accounts, and maybe even sometimes sell them to the people they stole them from...... I can understand selling ONE or TWO accounts, but selling six a week, there is obviously something wrong, and that is exactly why things like that shouldn't be allowed

You don't need proof to ban douche bags who are selling so many accounts

The one thing i liked that PR added, were the seperate "novice" and "experienced/-----" sotw/laotm etc.
Personally i love this site compared to PR, but eventually you lose all want to create art when there is little point
the GR Credit blows, for so long i wanted to make credits to buy signatures, but i could never make much, and I never had anything worth selling, eventually it got old trying to improve.

For some reason there is always this large group on here generally the more skilled artists who have an opinion of art, one that often times I just don't get, you see a picture of a c4d on a bg with altered lighting, and the "experienced artists" are creaming in their pants, it would be interesting to occasionally know why people like it other than "GREAT LIGHTING GREAT DEPTH I NEED NEW UNDERWEAR!"

I think this is just an idea that would i suppose contribute, nothing to really improve the site drastically

but to start a few large sections not just with some basic how to make this sig, but with
definitions of depth, and flow, and real examples, comparisons,
pretty much one real in-depth ever continuous vault of artistic knowledge
You could also separate tutorials, novice, -----, etc.

You could also added classing areas, or more in-depth areas for real criticism and not just
wow that sig looks awesome, great work, needs more depth, needs better lighting, or HEY I LOVE THAT SHOW!!

160 of which are nice...about 10 out of 121,650 are nice on here.

So yes, it is a valid comparison.

Quite a substantial amount more than that are nice people here.

How you interpret what someone means in their post vs what they really means makes a world of difference.

Would 2 - 3 credits a post make a difference in users posting more and being more active?
