    Need some real critic on this... I feel like I need more effect, but I can't just figure out where to put it on...

    I'd get rid of the white borders...

    I'm not sure what the thing on the right is? But it looks like your effect... try moving it away from the edge a little more. Could use some color. Its really bland imo.
