Good, now that this is in the right forum I feel I can properly reply.

All those people bitching about downs syndrome being "no excuse" - Yes it is. For all you know that kid could've shouted something at the guy which angered him and in his limited mindset he decided to kick the kid.

Seriously, if another kid kicks a kid you tell it off for being violent but you forgive it because it's just a child, so it doesn't know any better. It's the same with this guy with downs syndrome: He didn't know any better. I understand fully why the guy punched him but I also think it would be wrong if the puncher did not forgive the downs syndrome man afterwords.

I don't blame the guy for punching the mentally retarded guy, because frankly I would do the same. I don't blame the kid, because I know down syndrome individuals have different ways of interacting with individuals and he didn't look like it was a hard kick, more like a playful 'hello' type kick, like how you would punch a friend on the arm or something. One of the downs kids at my old high school did almost the same thing, it was just his way of interacting.

I don't think anyone is really in the wrong from a moral stand point, but if it was a thing that went to court the guy who punched the mentally handicapped dude would lose.

The guy was defending his kid, any father, (assuming that's what he was) would do exactly the same thing.
But then again, he's black, so i vote for him.

The man did overreact by punching the retard, but being retarded shouldn't mean that his inappropriate actions have no repercussions.

Meh, it wasn't a hard kick, I doubt the kid was even bothered. I don't think any repercussions should be brought onto the guy with downs syndrome tbh.
