Me and my buddy are moving in together this February because we go to the same college and have known each other for a while. He has a PS3, I have a 36in oldschool TV , and he has a 27in oldschool TV. So I'm like, we'll be living together for 3 years, lets go half in on a big screen, so We decided on a 42 in for some reason. So I am looking for a 42in with HDMI (which comes with most all TV's now days). We don't want to spend to much.. Hoping for under $1,000USD, so any reviews on anything, or suggestions? Thanks
on black friday at best buy they have a Samsung 42" 720p Plasma HDTV - $699.99 or Samsung 40" Class 1080P LCD HDTV - $799.99 a little more than your budget, but a better T.v. imo LG 42" 1080P 120Hz LCD HDTV - $1299.98
Oh, then I would just wait a bit before even looking around. Prices will probably drop in 2009 because newer and better models will be coming out.
Get a Sharp Aquos 1080p HDTV. You will find nothing better. Though the 42" cost me $1499.99 about half a year back. With additional warranty and a surge protection bar, it cost be about $2000. It could be less now, and if you wait for a sale at best buy or wal-mart or wherever, you might be able to get it for something around your price. By the way if you are both moving out together, you should both be able to easily afford more than $500 on a TV. Wait an extra pay period and spend $2000. It is worth it to get 1080p, especially when you are playing HD video games, and the console has a blu-ray player.
I personally have a 40" Samsung LN40A500 which is... $799 at Circuit City atm. Also, as a heads up, you will have a *dramatically* easier time fiding a 40" over a 42". In terms of make, Samsung and Sony are my two personal favorites, they make the best picture quality LCDs imo.
DONT WORRY GUYS. THE-NL SAYS TO BUY THE SAMSUNG, SO WE KNOW THE ANSWER TO EVERY QUESTION ABOUT TV'S EVER. THANK YOU.
