Hmm... I'm going to have to see this just for the sake of seeing it. I grew up watching DB. And I like fighting. So even if it's poorly done, if the movie has a great choreographer, it'll keep me entertained. Seriously though, Justin Chatwin as Goku? It just doesn't seem right having an anglo-saxon playing Goku (can't say American since he's Canadian). I guess they could use the excuse that Goku isn't human... And Piccolo isn't green. I'm sad now. He has to be green, because it makes his regrowth qualities make more sense.

It may work out in the end, depending on how they cast the rest of the movie, but at first glance I would have preferred they use a Japanese martial art master for Goku. [/b][/quote] What he was getting at is why even mention anything about him being "Anglo Saxon" which he isn't because that term is referring to British/English white males. you made a sentence that really wasn't needed. He's Canadian.
Chatwin is a British name. Yes, most Canadians came from France. If you have the name Chatwin, you did not. Therefore he's Anglo-Saxon by the standard definition. His eyes are the wrong color to not be considered Anglo-Saxon too. Also, believe it or not, I did look up the definition before posting that comment. I was trying to encompass the whole Caucasian demographic, but I couldn't remember the word Caucasian (My memory runs away from me sometimes), so I settled for Anglo-Saxon. It does work in this situation, and I'm sure you all have been victims of the tip of the tongue phenomenon yourselves. And Neuron, your post is riddled with intelligence as well, I can see. I wasn't trying to act smart, I was trying to not sound stupid and respond rashly to your post. Not only that, I do practice some grammar and spelling when online since I don't take any English classes anymore. I don't understand why everyone on GR is so hostile and has to either make sexual references or "elegantly" use the F word. Every topic on this site always degrades to something stupid. Proof that humanity is degrading. And my whole point remains: it's hard to picture Goku being white and I have difficulty seeing their reasoning in choosing Chatwin. There. No complicated or controversial terms in that sentence. Look on the bright side: I haven't launched into an entire deconstruction of the Dragon Ball media. Now I'm going to shut up and probably never post in this topic again, seeing as it's not really worth it anymore.
This movie was shot where I live, but I can't help but feel this will be a let down. I REALLY hope I'm wrong.
