As dumb as the rule is and as much as it should be changed, if they're not going to change it, they're not going to change it. You refusing to add text is not gonna change their minds. They don't care if you are dq'd.

Also, apparently Mortified is rebelling against the system, his doesn't have his name or initials in it either. ;)

Personally I find this to be a childish argument. The rules have been the same for ages so we don't intend to alter it any time soon, and if you can't even put text on your tag then your not going to be much competition for some of those other competitors.

The Rule is the for the reason I previously stated. I'm not saying your TRYING to get an unfair advantage, I'm saying that it IS an unfair advantage regardless. You are not the first to argue this rule, the point of the signature is to represent the maker, not just their idea. Aside from this reason, it is also their for the purpose of judging, so as to make the process of identifying tags easier and quicker.

I have gone extremely lax on this rule, by allowing nearly invisible letters and the rest of that crap, and this is the thanks I get? More complaints? You can enter, or not, but you have to follow the rules. The staff's words are final, and I still hold that to apply to myself. The rules is older than me, and I will continue to enforce it.

edit: Mantis, he does that all the time, its just a joke :P

And about what mantis said @ ryuuzaki, I'm sorry but he's right. I don't have the time to waste on a few people who don't like taking 5 seconds to learn how to put nice text on their entry to make it competition worthy. I'm sorry to disqualify people, but I'm a busy guy too. If they don't have enough posts, no name, doesn't fit the theme, I just leave them off the voting list untill the very end where I make a little note not next to their name saying why they were disqualified.
And originally, if you were disqualified, your entry wouldn't count for premium, nor would you be allowed to enter the next week's sotw. I stopped enforcing these rules as well when I took over the competition. I've spent as much time as I'm willing to on the topic, and I hope that you've gotten as much of a reason as you wanted.

Dude..calm down. I never said that you were at fault, or were doing a bad job. You're doing a good job, and I applaud you for it. In fact, I applaud every staff member. Good job staff people.

But anyways I don't understand what part of what I said was childish. All I asked for was a legitimate reason for the rule, that's all. Oh and the ability for a person to put his/her name on a tag isn't a accurate measure of what the persons skill is...

By the way, you just gave the reason yourself.
"the point of the signature is to represent the maker, not just their idea. Aside from this reason, it is also their for the purpose of judging, so as to make the process of identifying tags easier and quicker."

That reason is not enough, but I have no problem with it. It's the site's rule, the reason you gave is understandable, and I respect it.

My purpose wasn't to remove the rule for the sake of removing it, but to understand the logic behind it. If you had given a logical reason in the rules section, I wouldn't have to waste my time and your time with all this talk.

So thanks for answering my question, and gl all competitors in the sotw.

I deleted your post Zentry, next time post it in the entry thread. But for the record, please read the rules post before hand. You must have 100 posts or a premium account to enter sotw.

I can't believe I actually tried to spend time to decipher whether or not you were implying if it was good to know. >_<

You have wasted 5 seconds of my life with your triple negative!

If mortified doesn't win the system is corrupted. The contrast and detail of that sig is simply amazing!

Could somebody tell me why I can't attach my signature? The option to attach doesn't appear when I'm posting a reply :|

Edit: Problem fixed. One doubt though. I uploaded the tag by using the [IMG]

Just put it in code tags and image tags, you don't need to attatch it.
