Alright so I have had acne for about nine months now, never had acne before then.I got really sick bad fever ect for about three weeks long back aboutt the beginning of 08 the outcome was acne galore. Now I am still fighting it trying to reduce INFLAMMATION.. I take Omega 3 pills and eat alot of omega 3 foods. I live in a very healthy home mostly fruits veggies salmon ect. And I dont break anymore unless I eat something, which is weird cause the one time I cheat i break out.. its fkn messed up.. I have done anything anyone could think of literally..except accutane or any use of pills, What is your input? on them?

Me now [IMG][IMG] me last year "clear" [IMG][IMG] [IMG][IMG] "two months ago" see those bad inflammation?
thats me.. as you can I have big marks on both cheeks, like I said i can control my acne but I can't seem to reduce inflammation.
Anything you can say? I am currently on Skin I.D and all natural coconut oil "most natural oil for moisturizer" works amazing.

You can get some cream prescriptions. Those actually do something.

But using the "natural oils" don't work. You're using psychological treatment.

Acutane or menocycline (spelling...) are what you'd probably be using now.

You can go get a facial where they'll use some citrus acid on your face and help you with that.

Or you can go to a doctor and have your skin peeled. Sounds bad, but it's not. They just put some stuff on your face and they get rid of a layer (I don't know if it works all that well).

I find that step three from the proactive packages works pretty well with inflamation. I haven't been able to find any 2.5%-5% BP solutions, however, I have found 10% on shelves. Have you tried those creams?

You can talk to your doctor to ask for a stronger cream. They work pretty well, my friend used to have crazy bad acne. He still has it, but it's under control (it was about ten times worse than what you have).

How old are you? It could just be related to hormones, but it could also be caused by stress. Are you eating food enhanced by chemicals? What about drinks? Some chemicals will also influence your hormone levels, causing a break out.

There's the obvious stuff: make sure to wash your face every morning with cleanser, as well as every night. Acne is caused by clogged pores. Try and keep your stress level down: if you have to, assign a certain amount of time each day to just relaxing.

Do you exercise? That can help lessen the effects of acne because it relaxes you, and I believe that sweat will clear out your pores.

I'll ask my friend what he was using for his acne. I believe it was a prescribed cream.

Try tanning. It may sound weird, but it really helps with the inflammation.

I never really thought about it, but that does make sense. I don't break out much during the summer... (although my acne has begun to go away) Just be careful with how much you do it...

Also, this may sound dorky, but try Mary Kay acne treatment. When I was actually using it as much as I was supposed to, it worked. I'm just really bad at routinely doing anything... I actually gave up on it and just ignore my acne, since it's not horrible. And I remove it from photos with photoshop, lol. But that's because I do self-portraits for some assignments and the acne draws the eye too much...

A world far beyond your imagination...
I'd like to share some basic tips and guidelines to encourage healthier skin. It's simple…

    #1 Keep it clean.
Men have approximately 15% oilier skin and significantly larger pores than women do. Basically, this means you get dirtier. It is very important; no matter what skin type you have, to clean your face every day. Deep cleansing is important. It keeps pores clear, skin healthy and you looking good.

Cleansing products should be as chemical-free as possible. Deodorant soaps shouldn't be used on your face. They cleanse with harsh ingredients and leave a detergent film behind. This may irritate your skin and will clog your pores. Go natural.

A good scrub is essential for healthy clean skin. It will remove dead cells and smooth the surface of your face. The scrub should be strong without being damaging. Stay away from scrubs that contain rough elements like ground bits of nut or seed extracts. They will tear and damage the skin. A good scrub will invigorate you, not hurt you.

Moisturizing is a necessity. Again, the product with the least amount of chemical additives is the best. Always use a light moisturizer on your face after cleansing and shaving and don't forget your neck!

For an intensive moisture treatment use pure vitamin E, or aloe vera oil. It is available in liquid form, or just break open a capsule and apply the oil directly to the skin. This is a great under eye treatment. Remember it is very important to moisturize this sensitive area of the face. It is one of the first places to show age because the under eye skin secretes no necessary oils on its own.

    #2 Keep it toned.
Because men are outside more than women are, environmental debris and pollutants are more a factor to their skin's health. Toning helps keep the skin clear and firm.

As skin ages, it needs to work harder to maintain its elasticity. Astringents and toners with glycolic or alpha hydroxy acids work the best for toning the face. These acids actually can reduce the pore size, and help avoid ingrown hairs. They are aggressive and have quick results. Remember to look for a product that is not photosensitive (sensitive to light).

    #3 Treat your skin.
Depending on your skin type (oily, dry or combination) and the time of year, there are different products that treat and enhance your skin. Different treatments will have very different results. It is important to know your skin's needs.

All types of skin need to be exfoliated. This is the removal of dead skin cells that form daily. This is an essential part of skin treatment.

After shaving, you need to moisturize with a product that has absolutely no alcohol in it. Avoid heavy fragrant after-shave products too, as they can irritate the skin.

Skin that is too shiny doesn't look healthy, just greasy. Blot the excess oils away. Blotting papers or a light powder that will give you a more natural finish, are both good options to try.

Don't forget about your lips. Find a balm that has an SPF of at least 15 in it. Peppermint oil has a nice feel and keeps the lips looking luscious.

    #4 Protect your skin.
Healthy skin is young looking skin. There are preventative techniques that can promote the best skin possible and keep it looking its best longer. Remember that your skin is a mirror of your overall body health.

    Here are the key techniques:
    • Avoid over exposure to the sun.
Sun damage leads to hyperpigmentation (brown spots) which can develop into serious skin disease. Excessive exposure can also exaggerate and thicken fine lines. Use an SPF 15 or higher on all exposed skin, especially on your face.
    • Stay in shape.
Exercise promotes capillary functioning which can decrease premature aging. It also increases oxygen to the tissues which keeps skin looking young.
    • Eat right.
Keep vitamins such as C and E in your diet regimen.
    • Everything in moderation.
Too much of anything is never a good idea. Stay away from excessive alcohol, smoking, fatigue and stress. Not only can these factors lead to premature aging; they also decrease facial circulation making you look older.

In addition, I had acne for a month but I cleaned it in less than 2 weeks and this really works. I used Nivea for Men Face Scrub.
    http://www.amazon.com/Nivea-Energizing-Scr...s/dp/B00006K14U
It comes in two different textures the one you see there for normal skin and the one I used for hard and rough skin which is a little darker colour than that one. I used it everyday twice once in morning and once after dinner, it works.

    Have fun,

    Zain.

steroid creams work wonders, might need to go to your GP to get them prescribed.

Also, bananas, both internal and external, the antioxidents will reduce further outbreaks but, might sound odd, rub the bananaskin onto where there are outbreaks, it'll calm them down alot, apparently the same thing works with papaya skins too.

    Sauna.

I never had bad spots or acne, but a Sauna obviously makes you sweat, sweat makes your pores open up.
Important thing to remember is to gently wash your face after a sauna.

If you google "Sauna for acne" you should get a few reads, some claim it helps, some claim it doesn't (Like with everything)

    Here's an example: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qi...21004421AAvkiHz

I think this is why spots occur less in summer, due to sweating.
Like I said, I never had bad spots or acne, so I cant give you first hand advice.
